Aamir Khan who recently celebrated his 53rd birthday with media in Mumbai as wife Kiran Rao looked on, revealed that he has been trying to quit smoking for some time now.

Sharing his fair share of weaknesses with the paparazzi, Aamir said, "I think my obsessive personality is a problem. Another bad habit that I have is smoking. I have tried to quit, but I hope to kick the butt altogether."

Earlier, at the time of shooting for hit film "Dangal", Aamir said, "I am not happy that I am smoking again. I try not to smoke. But when my film is about to release I get nervous so I start smoking again but then I stop it as well. I don’t think smoking has anything to do with acting. Due to smoking health will be affected. I tell everyone not to smoke and even I try not to smoke."

Aamir, on his birthday, joined Instagram and even did a live video chat with fans. As his first Instagram post, he shared a series of nine photos as part of a collage picture of his mother, Zeenat Hussain's photo. While sharing the photo, Aamir wrote: "I had to post my mom’s post as the first on Instagram because of her I am here."

On the work front, Aamir Khan is busy with "Thugs Of Hindostan" that also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif. The film is slated to release during Diwali 2018.
