India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has devised an ultraviolet sanitisation system to sanitise all electronic gadgets, currency and papers. The UV cabinet will be automated, contactless.

The Defence Ministry has developed this system as the country fights coronavirus outbreak and the system will be called Defence Research Ultraviolet Sanitiser (DRUVS).

DRUVS will provide a 360-degree exposure of the UV rays to the objects kept inside the cabinet. The automatic device will go into sleep mode after the sanitisation is done, this means the operator does not need to wait till it gets over.

In order to contain the spread of virus DRDO's Research Centre Imarat (RCI) lab is working on making this device contactless.
