The court directed jail authorities to produce him before the court on March 27.

The court had issued the same warrant in February as well.

Gangster Abu Salem is undergoing trial for allegedly demanding an amount of Rs 5 crore as protection money from Delhi businessman Ashok Gupta in 2002.

On January 15, he had claimed that there was not much evidence available against him in the case.

He also said that he was being tried in the case in violation of the order by which he was brought from Portugal to India in 2005.

Salem has already been given a bail in the case. However, he remains in the jail after being convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

A TADA court had sentenced Abu Salem to life imprisonment in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case in September 2017.
