Delhi High Court grants interim relief from arrest to Karti Chidambaram

Delhi High Court on Friday granted interim relief to Karti Chidambaram until March 20 in the event of an arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) ) in the INX Media money laundering case. 

The court granted the relief till next date of hearing. HC also issued a notice to ED and Centre based on Karti's plea. 

The next date of hearing is March 20.

Karti had moved the Delhi High Court seeking interim relief in the INX Media money laundering case. He moved the petition after the special CBI court had extended his custody by three more days on March 6. 

The investigating agency had said that new revelations have come up and his custodial interrogation was necessary to confront him with the new facts.

Senior Congress leader and former finance minister's P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram was arrested on February 28 from Chennai Airport in connection with the INX Media money laundering case.

Earlier Delhi Patiala Court sent Karti Chidambaram to 5-days police custody in connection with the INX Media money laundering case on March 1 which was extended by three days till March 9.
