Dense fog continued to hamper train services in Delhi today.

Thirty-nine trains will be arriving late, 13 have been cancelled and four rescheduled due to fog or operational reasons, ANI reported.

Several parts of North India, including Delhi and the adjoining National Capital Region, have been engulfed in fog because of low temperatures.

Pollution also contributed to the smog in the national capital.

The Air Quality Index, an index of measuring air pollution, was in the "poor" category at Delhi's Lodhi Road.

​​Meanwhile, schools in Bihar have been shut till Saturday due to the prevailing cold conditions.

Many places in Jammu and Kashmir are facing sub-zero temperatures. The Dal Lake in Srinagar city has been frozen at many places.
