There can be a further delay in the arrival of Sridevi's mortal remains to India caused by the toxicology tests done on the body of the evergreen actress, reports said on Monday.

Gulf News quoted sources as saying that the toxicology tests are expected to reveal the exact cause of Sridevi's death and that if results conclude that natural cause such as a cardiac arrest was not the reason, then there could be further delays in sending the body home.

An Indian Consulate official had said earlier that Sridevi's mortal remains will be ready for repatriation between 1 pm to 2 pm (Dubai time) on Monday.

The time difference between India and Dubai is 1 hour 30 minutes, so Sridevi's mortal remains were expected to be transported from Dubai by 3.30 pm Indian Standard Time.

The actress, 54, reportedly had a fainting spell in her bathroom and was immediately rushed to Dubai's Rashid Hospital.

Sridevi died in her hotel room in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers at 11 pm on Saturday, a source in the Indian Consulate in Dubai said.

Sources in the Indian Consulate had said that she was brought dead to the hospital.

The hotel refused to comment on the matter.

In Mumbai, celebrities and fans have been flocking to the residence of Sridevi's brother-in-law, actor Anil Kapoor ro offer their condolences. They include filmmakers Karan Johar and Farah Khan, designer Manish Malhotra, actors Tabu and Farhan Akhtar along with his mother Honey Irani, and choreographer Saroj Khan.
