COVID-19: Tamil Nadu reports 805 cases, Punjab records 21 cases

Mumbai's Dharavi slum area reported 42 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases to 1,583 in the area. 

Punjab reported 21 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases in the state to 2,081.

As the virus continued to spread, the Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) on Monday reported four new cases with 141 active COVID-19 cases.

CRPF said 220 soldiers have recovered from the virus while reporting two deaths.

Meanwhile, the Railways Ministry said that since some officials of the Railway board had tested positive for coronavirus, therefore, the ministry has decided to close all offices of the Railway building on May 26 and 27 for intensive sanitization.

Meanwhile, Mumbai's Dharavi slum area reported 42 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases to 1583 in the area. 

Tamil Nadu reported 805 new coronavirus cases with seven deaths in the last 24 hours. State health minister C Vijayabaskar said 549 cases were from Chennai.  The total number of coronavirus cases in the state has now risen to 17,082.

In Karnataka, 93 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours with two deaths taking the total number of cases to 1,431. Forty-four people have died due to the virus in the state.
