COVID-19: Mumbai's slum area Dharavi reports 23 cases; death toll rises to 71

In Uttarakhand, 60 new coronavirus cases were reported taking the total number of cases to 1,145, the state health department said.

Maharashtra Police said on Thursday that one policeman had contacted coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the number of cases in the forces to 2,557.

Thirty police officials have died due to COVID-19 in the state. Mumbai's Dharavi slum area reported 23 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases in the area to 1872. The death toll in Dharavi as risen to 71.

In Uttarakhand, 60 new coronavirus cases were reported taking the total number of cases to 1,145, the state health department said.

Meanwhile, India's north-east state Manipur recorded 13 new COVID-19 cases taking the total number of cases to 121 with 83 active cases.

Chandigarh health department said the number of coronavirus cases stands at 302 with five deaths.

In Andhra Pradesh, 98 coronavirus cases were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 3,377. Three people died due to the virus in the state taking the death toll to 71
