COVID-19: Maharashtra reports highest single day death toll; Mumbai reports 1,442 new cases

Maharashtra on Thursday reported 2,933 new coronavirus cases with 123 deaths which is the highest number of fatalities in the last 24 hours in the state.

The state health department said the total number of cases had risen to 77,793 with the death toll due to the virus climbing to 2710.

Meanwhile, Mumbai reported 1,442 new coronavirus cases and 48 deaths in 24 hours with the total number of positive cases surging to 44,704. The death toll in Indian financial capital has now reached 1,465.

In West Bengal, 368 new coronavirus cases were reported with the total number of cases rising to 6,876 in the state. The state health department said 283 people have died due to the virus.

In Jammu and Kashmir, 285 cases were reported with the total number of cases rising to 3142 including 2,059 active cases.

In Haryana, 327 new coronavirus cases were reported with the total number of cases in the state rising to 3,281, including 24 deaths.
