BJP President Amit Shah took a dig at the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka saying that the chief minister was "synonymous with corruption".

He said " Karnataka government has failed on all fronts. Corruption cases are on a rise. Corruption & Siddaramaiah government have become synonymous".

He added that "the manner in which all cases against Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) have been withdrawn, shows the unidirectional action by Siddaramaiah government".

He also said that the constituency of Kharge in Karnataka was the most backward constituency in the state.

Clarifying his party's stance over the remarks of BJP minister Anantkumar Hegde, he said that the party was not responsible for the comments made by him. He also added that the BJP leader had apologised for his remarks.

At a public function in Karnataka, Minister for State for Skill Development, Hegde had said in December that the Constitution needs to be changed from time to time and that those who claim of being secular and progressive do not have an identity of their parents and their blood.
