As people wait for a decision on the extension or lifting up of the lockdown, there has been no official word from the government yet. It is being speculated that the lockdown could continue beyond May 3 in parts of the country which have been worst affected by the pandemic.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, on Tuesday, said that the doubling rate of COVID-19 cases has slowed to 10.9, with a recovery rate of 24.56 per cent.
