Story highlights

Sources say Congress is at registry office to get the petition listed.

Congress-JDS filed a writ petition challenging the appointment of KG Bopaiah as pro-tem Speaker in the Supreme Court on Friday.

The petition said Bopaiah's appointment is a blatant move to manipulate voting on trust motion.

Congress-JDS also seeking video recording of voting in trust motion, another plea which was not accepted by SC in the morning today.

Since a judge is out of town, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra will have to constitute another bench.

Earlier speaking to media persons, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Friday said that the option of going to the court was open.

''We will be able to inform you in a short while. Yes, the option of going back to Court is open,'' Surjewala said responding to a query on if Congress will challenge BJP MLA KG Bopaiah's appointment as pro tem Speaker.

The Governor Vajubhai Vala has once again launched an encounter on the Constitution by appointing KG Bopaiah as pro tem Speaker instead of the senior most MLA, Surjewala added.
