Congress releases second list for Rajasthan, Manvendra Singh to take on Vasundhara Raje

Manvendra Singh, a former BJP MLA from Sheo, in September quit the saffron party to join the Congress ahead of the Assembly elections.

The Congress on Saturday released its second list of 32 candidates for the December 7 Rajasthan Assembly elections on Saturday. It has fielded former BJP leader Jaswant Singh’s son Manvendra Singh against Chief Minister Vansundhara Raje in the Jhalrapatan constituency.

The list was released by party general secretary and in charge of Rajasthan unit Mukul Wasnik. The party had declared 152 candidates in the first list on Thursday night.

Manvendra Singh, a former BJP MLA from Sheo, in September quit the saffron party to join the Congress ahead of the Assembly elections.

Senior Congress leaders, including Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot and CP Joshi, are contesting the elections.
