Congress President has never used or never hired the services of a company called Cambridge Analytica: Congress

Amid allegations of Congress using services of Cambridge Analytica for 2019 elections,  Congress leader Randeep Surjewala held a press conference to clarify the allegations on Wednesday.

Refusing all the accusations, Surjewala said, "Indian National Congress or the Congress President has never used or never hired the services of a company called Cambridge Analytica,".

Calling Ravi Shankar Prasad's earlier accusations a ''fake agenda'', Surjewala also added that "white lie being dished out by Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad".

He also alleged that Rajnath Singh uses Cambridge Analytica in 2009 elections.

Randeep Surjewala further said in the conference that "BJP's factory of fake news has produced one more fake product today. It appears fake statements, fake press conferences & fake agendas have become everyday character of BJP and its 'Lawless' Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad".

BJP and Congress have got involved in a fight as they accused each other of using UK-based data analysis firm Cambridge Analytica.

Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad also accused Congress Party of having ties with data analytics firm Cambridge Analytica.     

He also said that the Congress is planning to use the firm's services for the next Lok Sabha elections and to boost its president Rahul Gandhi's profile. He asked Rahul Gandhi to explain the company's role in his social media outreach.

Cambridge Analytica has been accused of harvesting private information from more than 50 million Facebook users in developing techniques to support President Donald Trump's 2016 election campaign, the New York Times and London's Observer reported on Saturday (March 18).

The reports have mentioned that the firm has worked for Indian clients as well.
