Congress only releases manifestos, never fulfils them: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday launched an attack on the Congress stating that the party only releases manifestos but never fulfils its promises, news agency ANI reported. 

CM Chouhan's comments came shortly after the Congress released its manifesto for the poll-bound state. 

"Congress today released its election manifesto, they only release manifestos but never fulfils them," the Chief Minister said. 

He added that former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi had promised to alleviate poverty but didn't do it. 

"Even Indira ji and Rajiv ji had promised to remove poverty but didn't do it. Their promise was fulfilled by Shivraj Singh Chouhan PM Modi that is why Congress is angry," Chouhan noted during his address in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh. 

Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party on Saturday released its manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. The party promised to write off farm loans of up to Rs 2 lakh and provide a "salary grant" for five years to industries offering jobs to the youth if elected to power in Madhya Pradesh.

The main opposition party also promised a host of benefits for other sections of the society in the state where it is eyeing a renewed bid to dislodge the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power, news agency PTI reported. 

Releasing the 112-page manifesto at a press meet here, state Congress chief Kamal Nath described it as the "voice of the people of Madhya Pradesh."

The 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly will go to the polls on November 28, the results will be announced on December 11.
