Congress-JD(S) to fight 2019 Lok Sabha polls together, announce cabinet portfolios in Karnataka

The Congress-JD(S) alliance in Karnataka have announced the allocation of portfolios to its cabinet.

The Congress has retained the Home, Irrigation, Agriculture, Industry, Urban Development and the Health Ministry. The JD(S) on the other hand has been given the charge of Finance and Excise, PWD, Education, Transport Tourism.

In all the Congress takes over 22 ministries while the JD(S) gets 12 ministries.

The two parties were reportedly undergoing a tussle in the allocation of the Finance Ministry, which has been finally given to the JD(S).

While addressing the press conference Congress leader KC Venugopal has also clarified that the two parties will fight the Lok Sabha polls together.

He said, "Congress and JDS will fight the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as part of alliance".

Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has said that the expansion of ministry will take place on June 6.
