CBI registers Rs 515.15 crore bank loan fraud case against RP Infosystem, directors

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case of bank loan fraud against RP Infosystem and its directors. 

The fraud is thought to be worth Rs 515.15 crore

RP Infosystems manufactures personal computers and is based out of Kolkata. 

Punjab National Bank had earlier this month reported fraudulent transactions worth Rs 11,400 crore from a single Mumbai branch. The bank has since said the total amount scammed might be Rs 1,300 crore more

Billionaire diamantaire Nirav Modi, who has become the face of the scam, is accused of defrauding the bank of Rs 280 crore.
