Call data records case: Nawazuddin Siddiqui's lawyer arrested

The Thane Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police on Friday arrested the lawyer of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rizwan Siddiqui, for allegedly obtaining the call data records of the actor's wife from private detectives.

Rizwan Siddiqui, who allegedly obtained the call data records of the actor's wife Anjali to spy on her, will be produced before the Thane court on Saturday.

The couple is reportedly undergoing a marital discord.

Parambir Singh, Police Commissioner, Thane said on Thursday that Nawazuddin Siddiqui has no direct role in the case. He was summoned as a witness and has assured cooperation, the top police official said.

The Thane police busted the CDR racket on January 24 with the arrest of four detectives of Globe detective agency in Vashi. 

This was followed by the arrest of five more people which include detectives and hackers.
