Bodhgaya serial blasts case: Court sentences all 5 accused to life imprisonment

The National Investigation Agency's(NIA) Special Court today sentenced all accused in the 2013 Bodhgaya serial blasts case.

The NIA court sentenced all five accused to life imprisonment. Special NIA judge Manoj Kumar Sinha had earlier held all five accused - Imtiyaz Ansari, Haider Ali, Mujib Ullah, Omair Siddiqui and Azharuddin Qureishi - guilty in the case.

The serial blasts which had occurred on July 7th, 2013 around the historic Bodhgaya temple in Bihar had injured five people including Buddhist monks and spread panic in the complex.

At least ten bombs exploded that day with Indian authorities blaming it on Indian Mujahideen (IM). 

The blasts were widely condemned by nations with large Buddhist population with Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi, former Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Thailand government expressing shock and dismay over the bombings.
