Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Saturday said that the BJP would not succeed in breaking the newly-minted alliance between her party and the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Referring to the recently-concluded Rajya Sabha elections, Mayawati accused the BJP of indulging in "malpractices" and said the party exerted all its force to ensure that the BSP candidate  did not win at any cost.

"BJP did not deter from indulging in malpractices. They exerted all their force to ensure that the BSP candidate does not win at any cost. The entire system was deployed to ensure that the newly formed ties between BSP and SP loosen," the BSP chief said.

"I would like to tell BJP and company that their malpractices will not succeed in breaking the ties between SP and BSP. Yesterday's results have not affected the SP-BSP tie up in any way, not even by an inch."

Mayawati said that the SP and the BSP had made a "plan" to come together so that the BJP candidate  did not win.

"A plan had been made that we come together so that the BJP candidate couldn't win the election. It was also tried to make an effort to ensure that this election does not become a blot on the face of democracy," the BSP Chief said about the Rajya Sabha result.

"We share the same views on yesterday's result just like any one else. We believe Narendra Modi and Amit Shah used the system to make their candidates win. An environment of fear was created due to which there was also some cross-voting done," she added.

Referring to the by-election in Gorakhpur and Phulpur, the BSP chief said the "immoral" victory of the BJP could not make up for the party's defeat in these two constituencies.

"This immoral victory cannot make up for their defeat in Gorakhpur and Phulpur. Even BJP is aware of this," Mayawati, who backed the SP candidates in the by-elections said.
