Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday expressed hope of forming a government in the state with a "stunning majority." His comments came after he finished offering prayers at the Mahakal Temple in Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

"Bharatiya Janata Party will form the government in Madhya Pradesh with a stunning majority," Chouhan told the media.

The incumbent chief minister, on the day of polling in the state, exuded confidence. After casting his vote, Chouhan noted that he has set a target of bagging 200 seats, for which lakhs of volunteers are working day and night.

"I am 100 per cent sure that BJP will come to power for the fourth time and will have an absolute majority. We have set a target of 200 seats this time and lakhs of volunteers are working to achieve this goal," he told news agency ANI. 

The state went to polls on November 28, the results will be announced on December 11. As many as 2,899 candidates were in the fray.
