BJP says apologise after Cambridge Analytica whistleblower alleges Congress used firm's services
Follow UsThe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday asked the Congress to apologize to the nation for alleged data theft and trying to manipulate voters after Cambridge Analytics whistleblower Christopher Wylie identified the party as a client of the data firm.
The BJP cited a Cambridge Analytica whistleblower's deposition to claim that the controversial data firm had worked for the Congress and demanded an apology from its president Rahul Gandhi, saying he stood "exposed".
“Christopher Wylie, the whistleblower at the heart of the Facebook data breach scandal, has named the Congress as one of the clients of disgraced research firm Cambridge Analytica, accused of accessing user data illegally for political campaigns,” tweeted IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday.
Cambridge Analytica is in the dock for data theft and trying to manipulate voters using unlawful means. It has been established that Congress was a client of Cambridge Analytica. Congress Party needs to apologise to the nation for data theft and trying to manipulate voters.

Cambridge Analytica is at the centre of the Facebook data breach controversy where data of 50 million users in the US was compromised to benefit Donald Trump’s presidential election campaign in 2016.
