Ayodhya land verdict: Supreme Court to hear review petitions tomorrow

The Supreme Court of India is set to hear the petitions that are seeking a review of the Ayodhya land verdict.

The five-judge constitution bench will hear the petitions at 1.40 pm tomorrow. 

Justice Sanjiv Khanna, who replaced the former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will decide whether the hearing should take place in an open court or in a chamber.

Earlier in the day, Hindu litigant Nirmohi Akhara filed a review petition in the apex court. 

A five-judge bench ruled in favour of Ram Lalla last month. The disputed land spread over 2.7 acres was then allotted for the construction of Ram temple, overlooked by a trust formed by the government. 

Additionally, five acres of land at a prominent location was given for the construction of a mosque. The court has also asked the central government to give representation to the Nirmohi Akhara in the new trust.

Ever since the judgment was announced, many review petitions have been filed.
