News agency ANI reported on Sunday that the case will not be heard on January 29 due to the non-availability of one of the judges from the five-judge constitution bench.

The hearing in the Ayodhya case has been deferred again for an unspecified date.

News agency ANI reported on Sunday that the case will not be heard on January 29 due to the non-availability of one of the judges from the five-judge constitution bench.

"Ayodhya case won't be taken up for hearing by the 5-judge constitution bench of Supreme Court on January 29 due to the non-availability of Justice SA Bobde, " ANI reported.

Hearing of the politically sensitive case of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land title dispute in Ayodhya was adjourned earlier after Justice UU Lalit recused himself from the case.

Lalit had recused himself from the case after a senior advocate Rajeev Dhavan, appearing for a Muslim party had told the bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi that Justice Lalit had appeared for former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh in 1994.

The court had then directed its registry to go through all the records relating to the Ayodhya case which are available with it and submit a report by January 29 as to how much time it would require for translating the documents and the case material which are in Persian, Arabic, Urdu and Gurmukhi languages.
