Assembly elections 2018: Rajasthan, Telangana go to polls today

While the battle for power is fought between BJP and Congress in Rajasthan, the Congress-led alliance is challenging the ruling TRS in Telangana with the BJP seeking to make it a triangular contest.
Telangana and Rajasthan are undergoing elections today to elect their legislative assembly members.
While the polling in Telangana started at 7 am, voting in Rajasthan began at 8 am.
The polling in Telangana will end at 5 pm while in 13 constituencies classified as Left Wing Extremist-affected, polling ends an hour before at 4 pm.
Election Commission is using Voters Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) in Telangana for the first time.

199 out of 200 assembly seats will go to polls in Rajasthan today. Polling has been cancelled in Alwar district’s Ramgarh constituency following the death of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Laxman Singh.
A total of 2, 274 candidates in the fray in Rajasthan. As many as 4,74,79,402 people are eligible to cast their vote at 51,667 polling stations across the state.
With 32,815 polling stations across Telangana, around 1,821 candidates including a transgender are in the fray in the election.

The Congress-led alliance is challenging the ruling TRS in Telangana with the BJP seeking to make it a triangular contest. In Rajasthan, BJP will try to retain its power in the state assembly.
Counting of votes will take place on December 11.
