Shah on Saturday accused Mamata Banerjee of 'protecting Bangladeshi infiltrators'.

All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Derek O'Brien on Saturday said that BJP Chief Amit Shah should apologise for his statements made during his address in Kolkata earlier in the day or face legal action.

O'Brien stated that Shah has insulted Bengal and he should apologise for the same.

"Amit Shah's meeting was a flop show, he has insulted Bengal today. He doesn't understand the culture of Bengal and even insulted it with his blatant lies. If he doesn't apologise within the next 72 hours we will take legal action against him," he said at a press conference.

The TMC leader accused Shah of spreading communal disharmony in other states and that the same will not be accepted in West Bengal.

"He (Shah) should have a look at his own track record first before spreading such lies about us," he added.

BJP President Amit Shat on Saturday targetted West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee who has been opposing the NRC final draft.

"Why is she protecting Bangladeshi infiltrators? NRC is a process against illegal immigrants, shouldn't they be thrown out of the country?" Shah exclaimed.
