Amid Unlock 1.0, Delhi records over 1000 COVID-19 cases, 17 deaths

Maharashtra which has been worst-hit due to the virus recorded 2,553 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours with 109 deaths

As India began Unlock 1.0 on Monday, India's national capital recorded 1,007 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases to over 29,000.

Delhi recorded 17 deaths in the last 24 hours, the health department said taking the total death toll to 874. There are now 29,943 infected cases in the capital. The authorities said 11,357 people have recovered from the virus.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra which has been worst-hit due to the virus recorded 2,553 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours with 109 deaths taking the total number of cases to in the sate to 88,528. The death toll due to COVID-19 in the state has risen to 3,169 with the number of active cases at 4,4374. 

West Bengal on Monday reported 426 COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state to 8,613 including 4,743 active cases. There have been 405 deaths due to the virus in the state.

Chattisgarh reported 104 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases to 1,197. The state health department said that there are 858 active cases in the state.

Goa recorded 30 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 330, with 263 active cases, the health department said.

Tripura state minister Ratan Lal Nath said today that with the increase in number of coronavirus cases in the state, the government has declared 30 locations as "containment zones".
