All flights to and from the Delhi airport were delayed on Monday morning owing to dense fog.

As many as 13 Delhi-bound trains were also reported to have been running late this morning, news agency ANI reported.

Delhi witnessed light showers on Sunday with minimum temperature touching 8.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.

The national capital recorded 1.6mm rainfall, while maximum temperature remained at 19.6 degrees Celsius.

They said the mercury may drop on Monday with minimum temperature going down to 7 degrees Celsius.

"It will be mainly clear sky with moderate to dense fog in the morning. Haze or smoke will be thereafter with maximum temperature touching 18 degrees Celsius and minimum remaining at 7 degrees Celsius," the weather office said in its forecast.

Meanwhile,  the national capital recorded its lowest pollution level of this year on Sunday after a spell of rain, but the air quality remained in the 'very poor' category, authorities said.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in the city was 338, news agency PTI reported. 

Delhi's air quality has been oscillating between the upper range of 'very poor' and 'severe' category for the past two weeks.
