Earlier Deputy CM Nitin Patel had also shown his dissatisfaction with the portfolio.
He said that the issue was not about departments but about self-respect.
Before taking charge as the Deputy chief minister of Gujarat, Nitin Patel said he had been assured by BJP chief Amit Shah that he will be given "suitable departments" in the newly appointed government in the state.
Patel was stripped off three key portfolios - finance, urban development and petroleum and was allotted road and building, health, medical education, Narmada, Kalpsar and capital projects.
