4,213 new coronavirus cases in India, 1,559 recoveries in last 24 hours: Government

India's health ministry said that as per revised policy, mild, very mild, pre-symptomatic cases admitted in the coronavirus care facility can be discharged after ten days of symptom onset and if there is no fever for three days.

"Discharge policy has been changed because several countries have changed their policy from test-based strategy to symptom and time-based strategy," India's health ministry official Lav Agarwal said, adding,"we have also changed it based on it."

India's health ministry said today that in the last 24 hours there have been 4,213 new coronavirus cases and 1,559 recoveries with the total number of cases rising to 67,152.

44,029 people are under active medical supervision, the health ministry official said while asserting that the recovery rate is now at 31.15 per cent.

India's Home Ministry said that around 4,000 Indians have been brought back by 23 flights under the Vande Bharat mission and over 5 lakh migrant workers have been sent to their home states by 468 special trains.

The empowered committee on COVID-19 informed in the press conference that the Aarogya Setu app has been downloaded in 9.8 crore smartphones so far. 

"We have worked a lot on data privacy of Aarogya Setu users and made sure that user data are not compromised," Ajay Sahni, chairman of Empowered Group, said.
 
Meanwhile, with the Railway online booking window set to open, the ministry said that there will be no catering charges included in the fare with provision for prepaid meal booking, e-catering disabled.

The booking of train tickets will begin at 6pm today.
