35 Chinese soldiers dead in Galwan Valley clash: US intelligence sources

Four Indian soldiers are in critical condition after the violent face-off with Chinese troops on Monday evening, news agency ANI said quoting sources. 

The troops who were part of the face-off told about a significant number of Chinese casualties, the report said.

''Although it is difficult to specify the exact number of casualties both killed and wounded, the number is estimated to be much beyond 40,'' the report said quoting sources.

New wire PTI quoting US intelligence reports said 35 soldiers died and were injured on the Chinese side during the clash in Galwan Valley.

Commanding Officer of the Chinese Unit involved in the face-off with Indian troops in the Galwan Valley among those killed, ANI report said quoting sources. 

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with three service chiefs (Army, Navy & Air Force) and the Chief of Defence Staff.

He also spoke to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on the current situation, the report said.
