Actress Zaira Wasim has deleted her Twitter and Instagram accounts after receiving a backlash on her recent tweet in which she used a religious verse from the Holy Quran to justify the locust attacks. 

'Dangal' actor tweeted a verse from Holy book,''So we sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood: Signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in arrogance- a people given to sin -Qur’an 7:133” (sic).” which she deleted later.

The tweet gained the attention from tweetrati which concluded that her tweet was justified locust attack as the wrath of God.

''I like Zaira Wasim. But this is dumb and in bad taste. People are suffering bcoz of locusts, floods, COVID. She’s implying that this is ‘divine punishment'', a Twitter user wrote.

While other user wrote, ''she has totally lost it! I pray to same Allah that maybe gain back her senses and stop spreading hatred ness against the same people who gave her the stardom''.
