The Accidental Prime Minister is slated to release on January 11, 2019. 

One of the most-awaited films of the coming year ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ saw the release of its first trailer today. 

Anupam Kher who stars in the film, in the role of former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh does a convincing role. The biographical drama will show the political climate of Manmohan’s accession to power as then Congress president Sonia Gandhi gave up the prime post to the politician. 

The trailer begins with Anupam Kher swearing as the PM of India back in 2004 after Congress won with general elections. Suzanne Bernett plays Sonia Gandhi in the film.

Akshaye Khanna is shown as the writer and political advisor to the PM, Sanjay Baru. 

Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and written by Mayank Tewari, the film is slated to release on January 11, 2019.
