He was rushed to the hospital after complaining of breathlessness.

Veteran actor Kader Khan is critically ill and has been put on a BiPAP ventilator instead of a regular one, after he complained of severe breathlessness.

As his health deteriorated, the hospital staff took him under intensive care.

It is said that the actor shows symptoms of pneumonia and is unable to communicate. Told to a media portal recently, Kader Khan’s son confirmed that he recently underwent a knee surgery too. However, despite a successful surgery, he couldn't walk owing to his ill health.

"The surgery did not go wrong. It was just that my father refused to get up after the surgery. We were told that he has to make an effort and try to start walking from the next day. He just didn't do that," said Sarfaraz.

The 81-year-old actor is currently in Canada with his son Sarfaraz and daughter-in-law Shahista.

Kader is said to be suffering from Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) as well. It is a degenerative disease involving slow deterioration and loss of specific volumes of the brain.

Kader is known for his versatility in roles and especially for comic roles. He starred in films like ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, ‘Akhiyon Se Goli Maare’, ‘Joru Ka Ghulam’, ‘Haseena Maan Jaayegi’, and others.
