Trailer of controversial Michael Jackson documentary 'Leaving Neverland' is out!

A new trailer of Michael Jackson’s documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’ is out. HBO and Channel 4 will air the documentary next month even after Jackson’s estate threatened the makers and asked for it to not air as it is an "outrageous and pathetic attempt" to cash in on his fame.

The film details on the testimonies of two men James Safechuck and Wade Robson who allege that the late pop singer abused them as children. 

The film first came into public view at the Sundance Film Festival where critics and audiences were shaken and called it “devastating”.  

Defending the film, director Dan Reed told Variety: “This is not a movie about Michael Jackson” and added, “This is not a movie about Michael Jackson abusing little boys. It’s a movie about two families and how two families came to terms with what their sons revealed to them many years after Jackson died.”

According to the director, the film ‘Leaving Neverland’ reportedly goes into graphic and disturbing details accusing the singer of sexually abusing the two inside the bedroom. As per reports, Robson and Safechuck share their story through research and evidence that make it bring forward their compelling points.

Meanwhile, the estate wrote a long letter to the HBO denying all allegations and condemning the director for not speaking with anyone from the late singer’s family before making it. “Leaving Neverland isn’t a documentary, it is the kind of tabloid character assassination Michael Jackson endured in life, and now in death. The film takes uncorroborated allegations that supposedly happened 20 years ago and treats them as fact,” the estate said in a statement.

The estate also called Robson and Safechuck “admitted liars” who “provided no independent evidence and absolutely no proof in support of their accusations, which means the entire film hinges solely on the word of two perjurers.”
