Tony and Emmy award-winning actress Judith Light was honoured in Hollywood on Thursday (September 12) with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Light, who is known for her television roles in 'Who's the Boss', 'American Crime Story' and 'Ugly Betty' was awarded the 2,673rd star on Hollywood Boulevard.

America Ferrera, who starred with her on 'Ugly Betty' was first to take to the podium and said "When Judith Light looks at you, there's nothing standing between you and her heart, her full attention, her deep curiosity. This is what we've had the gift of seeing in every single character she has ever played. In every fight, she has ever taken on as an activist on behalf of other people's lives and dignity. Her work as an actress is phenomenal, inspiring, ever-evolving and I couldn't be happier that it's being celebrated and marked here today with this star."

Most recently, Light has been starring as Shelly Pfefferman in the Amazon series 'Transparent', for which she's been nominated for two Emmys. Her producer, Jill Soloway said that Light wasn't the first choice for the role but when they met, she knew instantly she had the quality she was looking for.

"You inspire all of us. We are so privileged to know you. This star, it's about time, it's your moment. We love you," said Soloway.

Light, dressed in a pink trouser suit, addressed the audience and said "This is actually a thank you note to all of you. Have you ever had an experience that is so profound that you can barely put it into words, that every time you went to express it, it slipped from you. It was ephemeral, it was indescribable. However, it was experiential and it carried with it a feeling of wonder and connection and breathtaking aliveness. Well, that is what this day and this experience is for me."

Judith Light will next be seen in the upcoming Ryan Murphy produced series 'The Politician'.
