'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' trailer: Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan narrate the story of an unknown hero

After teasing fans with character posters of the film, Ajay Devgn finally unveiled on Tuesday the trailer of his next 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior'. A period drama, it narrates the story of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare who took on the Mughal army in order to safeguard his region. 

Produced Devgn, the film has the actor playing the lead role while Saif Ali Khan plays  Udaybhan, a commander in the Mughal empire. The film also features Kajol who plays Devgn's wife. 



Mounted on a grand scale, the trailer gives a peek into the epic war scenes that the film will feature. Most of the battle scenes have Devgn and Khan pitted against each other. The two actors are working in a film together after 13 years. They last worked together in ‘Omkara’. 

Directed by Om Raut, the film is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare who was a military leader in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century India.

The film also stars Luke Kenny and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. 

'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' is set to release in theatres on 10th January 2020.
