Story highlights

Congress party leader and MP Shashi Tharoor chanced upon a shrine dedicated to SRK recently at a hotel in Munnar.

Film stars in south India are worshipped and given godly status. Fans build temples, shrines for their favourite stars quite often. So it isn't surprising that Shah Rukh Khan, superstar of Bollywood, has got one of his own in Munnar, Kerala.

Congress party leader and MP Shashi Tharoor chanced upon a shrine dedicated to SRK recently at a hotel in Munnar. The hotel room in which SRK had stayed while shooting for 'Chennai Express' has been converted into a shrine with posters of the film plastered on walls. The room also has a lifesize cut-out of the superstar in it. Coincidentally, Tharoor also stayed in the same room during his recent visit.

Tharoor, while sharing photos of the room, tweeted, "Dear @iamsrk, when on a brief visit to Munnar yesterday I took rest in the room you occupied in 2013, which has been converted into a shrine for you & #ChennaiExpress! Every wall is decorated w/posters of the film &the suite is dominated by this cut-out of you." The politician joking added, "No place for rest!" at the end of the tweet.
