Shah Rukh Khan turns 53, celebrations begin at Mannat from midnight

Ringing in the birthday at midnight is a common feature among Bollywood folks. But while most stars cut a cake and celebrate with their family and friends at midnight, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's birthday celebrations are tad different. 

As King Khan turned a year older on Friday, fans gathered outside Mannat, his residence in Bandra, Mumbai to catch a glimpse of their favourite actor. And Khan did not disappoint. SOon after cutting a birthday cake in the presence of family and friends, Khan stepped out to greet the crowd that had gathered outside to wish him. He waved, smiled and even gave few T-shirts to the thousands of fans who had lined up on the road at midnight. 

Khan's friends, filmmakers Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar also shared photos and videos of the celebration at home. Wishing Khan success for his upcoming film 'Zero', Johar wrote, "Happy birthday bhai!!!! Have known Gauri and you for 25 years and it will always be the most special relationship of my life!!! Thank you for being family and for all the memories ...and here’s to many more!!! May #zero be your biggest and hugest blockbuster!!!(sic)"

Zoya captured Khan waving and greeting fans outside Mannat on her Instagram stories.

The actor himself later, took to Instagram, to share photos of the celebrations. He wrote, "Fed cake to wife...Met my family of fans outside Mannat...now playing Mono Deal with my lil girl gang! Having a Happy Birthday. Thank u all...for this amazing love.(sic)" 

Khan will be unveiling the trailer of his film 'Zero' at a glittering event later today. Directed by Anand L Rai, the film has SRK playing a dwarf and co-stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film is slated to release on 21st December.
