Selena Gomez is no more the 'most followed' person on Instagram, this celeb is!

International icon Selena Gomez who is not only known for her singing talent but is a fashionista on social media has shockingly lost her title of being the ‘most followed person on Instagram’ to another high-profile celebrity. 
 
The 26-year old star rocked Instagram with the highest number of followers, for the past two years with 144 million. She was dethroned by football star Cristiano Ronaldo who surpassed the singer. Also read: You will not believe how much Selena Gomez earns for 1 Instagram post!
 
Selena had gained the top spot after superseding her best friend Taylor Swift in 2016 and kept her stride till now. But it looks like Selena doesn’t really mind as she is anyway off social media. In a post, she revealed that she is taking a break off social media as she needs rest. 
 
She wrote on Instagram on September 24: “Taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given. Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi.”

This came soon after reports of her checking into a rehab surfaced as her mental health deteriorated. She was hospitalised twice due to a low white blood cell count after undergoing a kidney transplant last year.
