Spanish film 'Roma' awarded best picture by LA Film Critics Association

'Call Me by Your Name' won the best film award last year and went on to bag the best picture nomination from the Academy Awards.

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association announced this year's best films. The voting for the coveted awards had begun via Twitter early on Sunday morning. 

'Spirited Away' and 'My Neighbor Totoro' director Hayao Miyazaki was honoured with the career achievement award.

'Call Me by Your Name' won the best film award last year and went on to bag the best picture nomination from the Academy Awards. Sean Baker's 'The Florida Project' was the runner-up.
