Story highlights

Rachel Green’s long association with her favourite brand Ralph Lauren (as she was shown to be working for the brand in the show) was pretty much evident, the designer brand has now released a collection inspired by the aspiring fashion executive.

As the iconic TV show ‘Friends’ completes 25 years on September 22 this year, we reminisce Rachel Green aka Jennifer Aniston’s fashion evolution that taught the girls how to dress up, what to wear and how to carry it effortlessly.

Rachel Green’s long association with her favourite brand Ralph Lauren (as she was shown to be working for the brand in the show) was pretty much evident, the designer brand has now released a collection inspired by the aspiring fashion executive.

The collection is reportedly called ‘The One Where They Wore Ralph Lauren’, obviously taking a cue from the name of the episodes of the original show.

The collection is being launched in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Bloomingdales. It features wear-to-work looks based on already existing products that might have found their way into Rachel's wardrobe in 2019. These include velvet jackets and turtlenecks, leather trousers and skirts in suede, leather and plaid, both in mini and midi length.

The only thing disappointing about the capsule collection is that it is solely for women as this is purely an ode to Rachel. The selection comes from Polo and LAUREN Ralph Lauren lines.

In a statement, Ralph Lauren said, "The collection is a celebration of the brand's role in the series. Just as friends proved to be a perennial favourite series for viewers over the last 25 years, this collection reflects Ralph Lauren's timeless styles and archetypes that have remained a go-to for the modern working woman."

What might excite you is that the collection will give you major nostalgia as its promotional shots were taken on sets that replicated Monica and Rachel's apartment and the gang's favourite coffee shop, Central Perk.

The collection will be on display at Bloomingdales' flagship in New York City where Rachel got her first big fashion job.

This is the first, one-of-a-kind collaboration from a major designer to mark the 25-year milestone.
