Rajinikanth's '2.0' Hindi crosses Rs 100 crore mark in box-office collections

Rajinikanth’s latest film ‘2.0’ (Hindi language box office collections) has now crossed Rs 100 crore mark. The Hindi version of the film has in total made Rs 122.50 crore. 

Starting with Rs 20 crore on Day 1, subsequently earning Rs 18 crore, Rs 25 crore and Rs 34 crore on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

With ‘2.0’ raking in the numbers, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “The distribution and exhibition sectors are in a joyous mood,” and added, “2.0 brings abundant cheer, boosts the morale of exhibitors, who were shocked after the disastrous response to Thugs of Hindostan. Optimism is back.”

According to trade website Box Office India, ‘2.0’ has earned Rs 229 crore in box office collections at last count, including the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions. The collections have beaten the franchise’s previous film, ‘Enthiran’ which made Rs 205 crore net collection.  

‘2.0’ is also ready for a mega release in China with makers booking 56,000 screens. It will hit the country in May 2019.
