Rajinikanth’s '2.0' cleared for release in Pakistan, sees record-breaking advance booking

As the world gears up for the release of Rajinikanth’s film ‘2.0’, makers can rejoice as the film has been cleared for Pakistan. 

According to several media reports, ‘2.0’ has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Pakistan. The film will be screened in around 75 cinema theatres across the neighbouring country. 

Ever since the news hit media, the film has witnessed a record-breaking advance booking. 

We reported about ‘2.0’ already recovering 75 per cent of its total budget out of advance bookings in India. The film has already amassed a whopping Rs 120 crore just in advance booking. With this, it has become the first film in Tamil cinema to go past Rs 100 crore.

Directed by Shankar, the film has Akshay Kumar in a negative role and Amy Jackson. In the film, Rajinikanth plays a scientist and a robot. The film is headed for biggest release for an Indian film

2.0’ is the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster ‘Enthiran’ (Robot) which also featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Lyca Productions has produced ‘2.0’ starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead. 

The film marks Akshay Kumar’s Tamil debut.
