In the domestic market alone the film has earned a whopping Rs 450 crore, making it the fourth highest Indian grosser of all time.

This was expected. Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer '2.0' has crossed the Rs 600 crore mark at the box office worldwide within two weeks of its release and is now the biggest hot of 2018. Its collections are now more than that of 'Sanju' and 'Padmaavat' which were the highest grossers of this year till now.

'2.0'  is also the eighth highest grossing Indian film globally which has 'Dangal', 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', 'Secret Superstar', 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', 'PK', 'Baahubali: The Beginning' and 'Sultan' in the top grossers list.  It is also the third film from south Indian after the Baahubali series to enter the all-time highest grossing Indian films list, which is dominated by Bollywood movies.

The film, originally made in Tamil, was released across the world in various other dubbed languages. Its Hindi dubbed version has done the maximum business owing to both Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's popularity. Read the film's review here.

In the domestic market alone the film has earned a whopping Rs 450 crore, making it the fourth highest Indian grosser of all time, only behind the mega blockbusters such as 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', 'Baahubali: The Beginning' and 'Dangal'.

Its Tamil version is inching towards crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. It must be noted that very few Tamil films are able to achieve this feat. Films like 'Sarkar', 'Mersal', Rajini's 'Enthiran' and the 'Baahubali' series are some of the films that have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.

The overseas revenue of '2.0' has also been stupendous and crossed the $17.5 million mark (Rs 127 crore) in 11 days. According to trade pundits, the film is likely to gain more in the coming weeks but its business may get affected post 21 December- when Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero' hits the theatres.

Meanwhile, as Rajinikanth turns 68 on Wednesday, the actor will be gearing up for the release of his next 'Petta'. The makers will be revealing the first teaser of the film on Wednesday to mark the superstar's birthday.
