Priyanka Chopra tops IMDB 2019 list of Indian stars, Disha Patani ranked second

Global domination it is! Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas has topped Indian cinema and television series in 2019 in a list curated by movie website IMDb.  Actress Disha Patani has secured the second position in the list. 

IMDb on Thursday released the list of 2019 top 10 stars. Hrithik Roshan has come third followed by Kiara Advani, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Rakul Preet Singh and Sobhita Dhulipala.

IMDb determines the list using data from IMDbPro STARmeter rankings, which are based on the actual page views of the more than 200 million monthly IMDb visitors.

"IMDb`s authoritative information on Indian titles and celebrities has grown dramatically in the past few years, and people around the world now turn to IMDb to learn more about Indian cinema, television series and stars," said Matt Kumin, Head of IMDbPro.

After a grand wedding in December 2018, Priyanka had two releases. One was a Netflix film called, 'Isn't It Romantic?' which had the actress in an extended cameo performance while her second film, a comeback of sorts in Bollywood post marriage was Shonali Bose's 'The Sky Is Pink'. The film received critical acclaim but failed to create any mark at the box office. 

Incidentally, Disha Patani, who ranks second in the list, had only one release in 2019- Salman Khan's 'Bharat' where the actress had a small role. 

Both Priyanka and Disha, despite abysmal outings at the box office, still enjoy a big fan following owing to their global appeal and brand endorsements. Priyanka, post her move to Hollywood, has managed to be a darling of both Indian and as well as the foreign press. She is also involved in a host of philanthropic work which keeps her in news. 

Patani, on the other hand, is the Indian brand ambassador of Calvin Klein's innerwear range.
