Prince William and Kate took to their social media handle Kensington Palace to wish Archie on his first birthday.

Prince Archie, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's son turned one on Wednesday and his uncle and aunt, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were the first few to wish the little one.

Prince William and Kate took to their social media handle Kensington Palace to wish Archie on his first birthday. The tweet was accompanied by a red balloon and family photo from the day Archie was christened.

The photo has baby Archie sitting with his parents and flanked by his extended family including Prince Charles and his wife Camila Parker Bowles, William and Kate, Meghan's mother and Princess Diana's two sisters.

The Queen and Prince Philip also wished Archie a happy birthday on Twitter, posting an official photo originally released shortly after his birth. In the photo, a smiling Meghan holds Archie, while her mom, Doria Ragland, Harry, the Queen and Prince Philip all gaze at the infant. "Happy Birthday to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor who is celebrating his 1st birthday today!" the tweet from the official @RoyalFamily account read. "Archie is The Queen’s eighth great-grandchild."

According to sources, William and Kate are expected to video call and wish the little one and his parents later in the day. The Queen too, is reportedly planning a zoom call.

Owing to the outbreak of coronavirus, the birthday celebrations of Prince Archie are going to be a subdued one who now lives in America with his parents. Harry and Meghan quit their senior roles from the royal family earlier this year.

According to media reports, Meghan and Harry had initially planned to celebrate their son's birthday at Queen's Balmoral estate in Scotland with a picnic outside. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, the celebrations had to be canceled.
