Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited their namesake county Sussex on Wednesday. It was the first time when the royal couple made a joint visit to the county, that is about 50 miles south of London.

The Duchess of Sussex opted for a cream cashmere coat thrown casually over a silk dark green shirt and matching green pencil skirt. She paired the look with beige suede heels. Like always, she kept the look clean with hair tied in a low bun.

The Duke of Sussex aka Prince Harry wore a grey suit with a white shirt for the event.

As the royal couple took a tour, among the first fans they met were a group of children from Westbourne House School who made a detailed guide for the county. As reported by a UK-based magazine,  Charlotte Sleep, one of the head teachers said that Meghan told her, “Thank you and that it will be helpful when we next come.”

The couple on their tour saw a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence. The Sussex-housed Declaration is one of only two handwritten manuscript copies. The other is the signed copy housed in the National Archives in Washington, DC.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex both signed the Edes House visitors’ book before leaving for engagements in Bognor Regis, Brighton and Peacehaven.

Queen Elizabeth gave Harry and Meghan their royal titles on the morning of their May 19 wedding.
