Netflix supports George Floyd's death protests: We have a duty to our black members

Streaming giant Netflix comes out in support for Black Lives Matter protest over the death of former footballer and a black man George Floyd.

''To be silent is to be complicit. Black lives matter, We have a platform, and we have a duty to our Black members, employees, creators and talent to speak up.'' the streaming giant tweeted Saturday.

Floyd was killed by a white police officer knelt on Floyd's neck for several minutes despite the 46-year-old's is continuously yelling, ''I can't breathe". The video of the arrest went viral which sparked protests and riots in Minneapolis and other cities across the United States.

Later Saturday evening, Amazon Prime also tweeted in support for  Black lives matter, "Together we stand with the Black community — colleagues, artists, writers, storytellers, producers, our viewers — and all allies in the fight against racism and injustice,".

Celebrities including Chrissy Teigen, Steve Carell, Seth Rogan, Jameela Jamil, Patton Oswalt, are now donating and urging others to send money to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a nonprofit organization, collecting cash for bail of the protestors.
