#MeToo accused Aziz Ansari says was 'upset, humiliated and embarassed' after allegations

Comedian Aziz Ansari had something to say on #MeToo at his recent show in New York. Ansari is back in limelight after being away for some time owing to being accused under #MeToo himself by a woman photographer. 

At his show, he said he remained silent on the issue earlier because he needed time to process and determine what he wanted to say and that “it’s a terrifying thing to talk about”.

As reported in Vulture, Ansari said, “There were times I felt really upset and humiliated and embarrassed, and ultimately I just felt terrible this person felt this way. But you know, after a year, how I feel about it is, I hope it was a step forward. It made me think about a lot, and I hope I’ve become a better person.”

For those uninitiated, Ansari was accused of sexual assault by a 23-year-old photographer from Brooklyn. She alleged that Ansari invited her to his home and made sexual advances despite her indicating that she wasn’t interested in the same. In response, Ansari had issued a statement and said that it had been “consensual” and that he was “surprised and concerned” to learn that the woman concerned “felt uncomfortable”.

Ansari is set to go on an international tour post this pop-up show in New York. On the same, he said, “There was a moment where I was scared that I’d never be able to do this again.”
